Our hankering for a base in Hathersage goes back a long way. In fact, way back to the days when we'd zig zag across the country on bus after bus just to reach the heart of British climbing, the testing ground for aspiring rockstars. When we set up shop on Hathersage's main street, we finally realised a lifelong dream.

Come rain or shine you’ll find a hearty welcome at Alpkit Hathersage, whether you’re ogling our Sonder bikes, poring over our wetsuits, or enjoying a brew and a chinwag.

Our doors are always open but there are lots of other things to do, so if you’re coming to visit our Hathersage store you may as well make the most of the local area whilst you are here. Here are a few of our favourite haunts:

Stanage Edge

The sights of any climber will inevitably be set on Stanage Edge at some point or another. Home to a myriad of gritstone must-dos, the boulders and crags have served as nurseries to some of the world’s best climbers. The area also supplies remarkable views and scenic trails in abundance, making it a haven for walkers, mountain bikers, runners, and nature lovers alike.
