Technical performance fabrics are our competitive strength. We develop our own fabrics with the best mills in the world.

All our waterproofs are highly breathable and highly waterproof and comparable with the very best. We wouldn't put Alpkit on it if it wasn't.

A common question is why we don't use component brands like Goretex. Our independence means we are free to develop genuinely innovative waterproof fabrics with high social and environmental standards that are long-lasting with no-compromise performance. We were one of the first brands to develop waterproof and breathable fabrics that are free from PFCs.

Women's specific design. For women, by women.

We design women first and then we design the mens. Our waterproofs use the same performance fabrics irrespective of gender and all are designed to the same performance standards. What’s different is our womens waterproofs are designed for a woman’s body shape, with specific panelling and particular attention paid to details like pocket position to ensure everything works as it should.

Balance is our multi-activity perfomance waterproof for hillwalking, climbing and scrambling. Fortitude is our fully featured hillwalking waterproof with a longer cut (to cover your butt). Sigma is a 3-layer waterproof to give exceptional performance for the price. Atalanta is a 2.5-layer waterproof. But don't doubt its serious performance characteristics. It is a performance waterproof at our most accessible price.
