Argonaut
€139,99
Simple doesn’t have to mean basic. Light, packable and reliable, with a fully adjustable hood, the Argonaut allows you to get your head down and crack on, whatever the weather throws at you
- Waterproof and breathable multi-activity jacket (10K HH, 10K MVTR)
- 100% recycled nylon face fabric and PFC-Free DWR
- Relaxed fit for unrestricted layering in all weather conditions
With 10K/10K (HH/MVTR) performance for waterproofing and breathability, the Atalanta will keep you protected and dry in all but the most extreme of typical British weather conditions. The outer fabric is a durable 50D ripstop nylon (made from 100% recycled polyester) to withstand all manner of outdoor scuffs and scrapes. And it's treated with an environmentally friendly PFC-free water repellent.
The Argonaut uses a lightweight 2.5 layer construction. This half layer is a super-thin protective print that reduces weight whilst still protecting your waterproof membrane from wear. This also makes the fabric nice and flexible for moving in and stashing away easily in packs.
The Argonaut's relaxed fit leaves plenty of space for you to layer it over a fleece or base layer, and room to move whatever the activity. It really is the Swiss Army knife of waterproofs, equally at home strolling up fells, riding churned up bridleways or wrestling tents up in a downpour.
When you're working up a sweat on steeper inclines, the mesh-lined pockets can dump extra heat by doubling-up as vents. A fully adjustable hood can be cinched right in during a gale or rolled away when the clouds clear and the cuffs are velcro-adjustable. To finish it off, a double storm flap stops water squeezing inside in during a downpour.

Sustainability and Product Care
Sustainability
Recycled materials
Argonaut uses a 100% recycled nylon outer fabric, made from post-industrial sources. This uses any leftover stuff from nylon production and fabric scraps from the cutting process and remakes it into brand new nylon fabric.
PFC-free DWR
Argonaut has a completely PFC-free DWR treatment on its outer fabric. PFCs are potentially harmful and have been found to build up in the environment. We don't like the sound of that and are one of the first outdoor brands in the world to eliminate them from our range.
Where it's made
Our products are made in the best factories in the world. We know the factories personally and they have all signed up to our Code of Ethics in our supply chain. This includes the Ethical Trading Initiative base code, fair pay, safe working environments, no child labour, no modern slavery, no bribery or corruption, no materials from conflict zones and humane farming methods.
All our factories sign up to our Code of Conduct. Find out where we make our product by visiting our Factories of Alpkit factory zone.
Reducing our carbon footprint
We are carbon neutral under PAS2060 and offset our Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 operations and transport emissions. We recognise that offsetting is not part of the solution but a point to pass through on a journey to Net Zero. Carbon Neutral is just a step in that journey.
We have joined the Science Based Targets Initiative which sets independent targets for us to achieve to do our bit to limit global warming to 1.5°C. Our targets are to halve our Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 2025 based on 2018 base year and reduce our total carbon intensity by 15% every year to achieve genuine net zero by 2050.
End of life
When your partnership with this product is over send it back to us and we will pass it on to someone that needs it through our Continuum Project.
Product care
Washing instructions
Wash: 30˚C, delicate cycle or hand wash with lukewarm water.
Dry: Line dry or tumble dry on low heat.
Iron: Use a cool iron to reactivate the DWR.
Use a technical wash product (like Nikwax Tech Wash or Grangers Performance Wash) or pure soap. DO NOT use detergent, fabric conditioners or softeners. Rinse thoroughly in clean water.
Caring for your DWR
To keep your jacket’s DWR treatment in good condition, wash it regularly in pure soap or a specialist cleaner. You may also need to refresh the treatment once or twice a year dependent on usage. Use a spray-on reproofer to maintain your jacket's wicking ability.
