Sonder Frontier
Quick, lightweight 29er modern mountain bike, a genuine wild country trail bike.
Sonder Frontier
Fast and fun for exploring beyond. Load it with bikepacking bags and ride out for overnight bothy trips and to Cape Wrath and beyond.
29er for trails, cycle routes, towpaths and loading up with bags for days of deep backcountry riding
Frontier is our bikepacking trail bike compatible with 27.5+ or 29 inch wheels.
Its beauty is in its simplicity, but simple does not mean basic. Clean lines, internal routing make for an exceptional bike. All in an easy-to-maintain, honest bike with strong componentry that works making it friendly for the home mechanic.
It loves rapid and carvy, sketchy and tight. It loves the boggy bits and makes this sort of terrain fun. It’s an exploration machine – a sightseeing bike – that handles speed and sweeping curves.
The geometry is relaxed for long-day comfort but it’s no slouch. The 6061 aluminium frame provides a durable, low maintenance and stiff chassis giving a responsive kick as you demand power when the slope steepens or enjoy feedback and precision through the corners.
Frontier is our versatile alloy all-rounder - ride it hard around local trails, load it up and sneak off for a midweek bikepacking trip through mid-Wales, pocket your passport and continue much further afield.
Frontier can be tailored to ride how you want it to ride. The geometry and head angle allows capacity to take a 100mm fork or ride fully rigid. So you can have it set up for speed or all-day comfort and put in the miles. Big tyre clearance gives you the choice of 27.5+ or 29in wheelsets. Bolt Through Boost 148mm rear spacing provides the benefit of stronger, stiffer and more efficient wheels.
Optimised for 1x drivetrains, Frontier is available in SX Eagle builds with rigid or 100mm suspension forks.
With a triple bottle cage mount for versatility and multiple boss mounts on the fork Frontier is an adaptable off-road explorer. Fast and stable for trail centre or big mountain days and responsive when loaded up in the modern lightweight bikepacking style of travel.
Wherever you are in the world - squeezing in an after work loop or halfway through an adventure of a lifetime; Frontier eats up long-distance trails with style and comfort.
