A night under canvas, waking up to fresh mountain air is so much more comfortable than modern polyester tents.

Organic cotton canvas keeps fresh and airy inside. It's highly breathable preventing condensation and allowing fresh air to circulate. Cotton is naturally insulating too, keeping your tent cool in the heat and warm in the cold.

Meet Frejus: a classic A-frame tent, solid as a rock and perfect for long camping trips in the height of summer. And it's built to last with durable materials and construction throughout – the flysheet lasts up to 4x longer than standard tent fabrics. Spacious, light and comfortable – camping doesn't get much better.

Cool and Airy Natural Canvas

Waterproof polycotton canvas has some real technical advantages over modern tent fabrics. Organic cotton is highly breathable, preventing condensation and allowing fresh air to circulate. Cotton fibres are naturally insulating too, keeping your tent cool in the heat and warm in the cold.

Built To Last

We've used durable materials and construction techniques throughout for years of camping. The canvas flysheet and 400D Oxford PU floor are super hardwearing. We've used steel for the poles and oversized pegs. And polycotton canvas is highly UV resistant, lasting up to 4x longer than polyester or nylon flysheets.

Designed to Put Up and Stay Up

The classic A-frame structure is incredibly stable in strong winds and creates loads of internal space. And, because it's much more UV resistant, you can put it up and leave it up on summer camping holidays without worrying about the flysheet catching too much sun.

Sustainability and Product Care

Product Care Information

Before Use
Canvas tents always need ‘weathering in’ before their first use or after a prolonged period of storage. This process seals up any spaces in the canvas weave or the stitching and ensures that your tent is completely waterproof. All you have to do is pitch your tent outside in wet weather or give it a thorough soaking with a hose, allowing the tent to dry fully before packing it away.

Looking After Your Tent
Polycotton canvas is susceptible to mildew if it's not allowed to completely dry out. You must always ensure that your tent is completely dry before packing it away for a prolonged period of time. We use polycotton canvas in our Roundhouse which is faster drying and more resistant to mildew, but still requires the same care.

We have dedicated Repair Stations in our stores and we're fully equipped to breathe new life into your old kit. This includes spare parts, patches, new zips and wash and reproofing of your down and waterproofs. Pop into any store or contact us online for more info.

Sustainability

How It Is Made

Organic Cotton
The Frejus uses 100% organic cotton. Organic cotton farming produces significantly less CO₂, uses less water and eliminates the use of harmful pesticides. And it feels great to camp under!

Gear You'll Love For Longer
We've chosen materials and construction techniques to increase your tent's lifespan and ensures that it will last for years. We've used UV-resistant polycotton canvas, durable 400D Oxford PU for the floor and steel poles and pegs.

Wood
All wooden toggles and fitments are sourced from sustainable sources.

Where It Is Made
Our products are made in the best factories in the world. We know the factories personally and they have all signed up to our Code of Ethics in our supply chain. This includes the Ethical Trading Initiative base code, fair pay, safe working environments, no child labour, no modern slavery, no bribery or corruption, no materials from conflict zones and humane farming methods.

All our factories sign up to our Code of Conduct. Find out where we make our product by visiting our Factories of Alpkit factory zone.

Reducing our carbon footprint
We are carbon neutral under PAS2060 and offset our Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 operations and transport emissions. We recognise that offsetting is not part of the solution but a point to pass through on a journey to Net Zero. Carbon Neutral is just a step in that journey.

We have joined the Science Based Targets Initiative which sets independent targets for us to achieve to do our bit to limit global warming to 1.5°C. Our targets are to halve our Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 2025 based on 2018 base year and reduce our total carbon intesnity by 15% every year to achieve genuine net zero by 2050.

End of life
When your partnership with this product is over send it back to us and we will pass it on to someone that needs it through our Continuum Project.
