Welcome to your home-from-home under canvas. The Roundhouse opens the door to spontaneous weekend escapes or extended getaways—where you wake to the scent of fresh air and spend evenings sharing stories around the fire. It’s the kind of tent that invites you to linger—when you could’ve left already.

Let the Adventure Begin

  • Breathable Polycotton Comfort – 100 % organic cotton blend keeps things cool in the sun and snug at night, reducing condensation and making every breath fresher.

  • Room to Breathe – With a 3 m footprint and 2 m peak height, there’s plenty of space to stretch out, sort gear, or simply lounge in peace.

  • All-Weather Ready – Tough 400D PU floor, steel poles, and UV-resistant fabric stand up to rain, wind, and years of use.

  • Quick and Simple Pitch – One central pole and a tensioned guy system mean you can be up and settled in under 15 minutes.

Wild Simplicity & Performance

The Roundhouse is rooted in the classic bell tent design—a structure perfected over centuries for good reason. One pole, one peg pattern, one seriously strong shell. The breathable polycotton canvas cuts down on condensation and flaps less in wind, while the PU groundsheet keeps things dry and sealed. The A-frame door adds usable entrance height, and optional inner tent makes for a warm, bug-free sleeping space. Whether it’s a weekend of wild camping or a base for summer festivals, the Roundhouse makes outdoor living feel effortless.

Trusted by Tent Lifers

Don’t just take our word for it. Live For The Outdoors called it “like a luxury hotel” for campers used to lightweight tents, praising its space, breathability, and value. Outdoor journalist Rob Ganley highlighted the Roundhouse for its “quality, thoughtful details and sustainability credentials”—noting its long lifespan, strong steel frame, and solid waterproofing.

“As seasoned lightweight backpackers… the Alpkit Roundhouse feels like a luxury hotel in comparison.” – Live For The Outdoors

Built for the Long Haul

Made with a 35 % organic cotton blend and responsibly sourced details like wooden toggles and steel poles, the Roundhouse is designed to last. Unlike synthetic tents, it resists UV degradation and wears in—not out. And because it's from Alpkit, it's backed by our 3-year warranty, supported by our in-house repair team, and made with our B Corp commitment to low-impact, high-integrity gear.

Designer's Notes

In many ways, polycotton canvas is the perfect tent fabric. As well as its unrivaled breathability, polycotton canvas is much more resistant to deterioration by UV rays. This extends the Roundhouse’s lifespan well beyond a nylon or polyester equivalent – up to 4 times longer in fact. - Rowan, Design Tech

Pair the Roundhouse with the Roundhouse Inner for the additional comfort of a separate bedroom compartment.

Sustainability and Product Care
Canvas tents always need ‘weathering in’ before their first use or after a prolonged period of storage. This process seals up any spaces in the canvas weave or the stitching and ensures that your tent is completely waterproof. All you have to do is pitch your tent outside in wet weather or give it a thorough soaking with a hose, allowing the tent to dry fully before packing it away.

Polycotton canvas is susceptible to mildew if it's not allowed to completely dry out. You must always ensure that your tent is completely dry before packing it away for a prolonged period of time. We use polycotton canvas in our Roundhouse which is faster drying and more resistant to mildew, but still requires the same care.

How It Is Made

Organic Cotton
We’re committed to only using cotton from organic or Better Cotton Initiative-certified sources which is why we’ve used 100% organic cotton for the Roundhouse. As well as being free from harmful fertilisers and pesticides, organic cotton uses significantly less water and produces lower levels of greenhouse gases.

Gear You'll Love For Longer
We've specifically chosen materials and construction to increase the Roundhouse's lifespan (e.g. steel poles and pegs, seamed construction, 400D PU floor) and ensure that your tent will last for years.

Wood
All wooden toggles and fitments use responsibly sourced materials.

Reducing our carbon footprint
We are carbon neutral under PAS2060 and offset our Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 operations and transport emissions. We recognise that offsetting is not part of the solution but a point to pass through on a journey to Net Zero. Carbon Neutral is just a step in that journey.

We have joined the Science Based Targets Initiative which sets independent targets for us to achieve to do our bit to limit global warming to 1.5°C. Our targets are to halve our Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 2025 based on 2018 base year and reduce our total carbon intesnity by 15% every year to achieve genuine net zero by 2050.
