Adventures are better together. Nocturne is a freestanding 4-person, 3-season tent ideal for a lifetime of camping as a family unit.

Vis-á-vis style design with two rooms that comfortably take a luxurious Double Dozer sleep mat or travel cot, plus multiple doors and heaps of space for bikes, climbing kit and everything in between.

  • Easy to pitch and pack
  • Two bug-free bedrooms (on account of bathtub groundsheet), pitch one or both
  • Spacious central living area with standing headroom
  • Freestanding and semi-geodesic design means stable in high winds
  • Compact pack size so easily part of a smaller car camp set up

Designed to stand up to the rigours of campsite life, Nocturne's sturdy aluminium poles and semi-geodesic pole structure create a freestanding, stable pitch even when storms roll in.

Spacer poles give a wide standing area in the central porch, with plenty of liveable space to relax, shelter from bad weather, and sort everyone's kit after long days in the hills. If you're using it as a couple; pitch yours lengthways and use the door on the end for an even more spacious base camp.

A low-stretch polyester flysheet with hydrolysis resistant TPU seam tape and free from PFC’s. A bathtub groundsheet on each pod means all round wet weather protection, with an optional footprint available. Ceiling windows help illuminate your breakfast (when it's too wet to sit outside), with a hanging hook to light evening board games and stash pockets to keep your basecamp tidy.

Designer's Notes:

"After experiencing our fair share of setting up base camp late on a Friday evening we wanted Nocturne to be as easy and quick to pitch as possible - even in the dark. The shorter pole sleeves and aluminium poles with flush connection points means no snagging during set up and less weight to support as you raise the tent.

The freestanding structure means once it's up you can peg out the guy lines without wrestling with the tent as you do it; and pitching outer-first gets you and your kit out of the elements sooner."

Sustainability and Product Care

Tent care

Clean and dry your tent thoroughly after each use. Never use a washing machine, tumble dryer or jet wash to clean your tent. Car washes are also frowned upon. Spot clean with warm water, mild (non-detergent) soap and a soft sponge. Never use bleach, fabric softeners or other household cleaning products and air dry only.

Tent repair

To make your tent last longer, avoid prolonged UV exposure and repair damage immediately. All our tents are provided with a basic repair kit for patching holes and splinting poles in the field. If your tent is beyond basic repair, pop down to one of our store's Repair Stations! If you are unlucky enough to rip your tent on a trip, use duct tape or StormSure Tough Tape until you have a chance to repair it properly. For more tent repair tips read our tent care and repair blog.

Alpine Bond

If one of our products does not meet your expectations upon delivery, or if during its lifetime does not live up to the demands placed upon it, please return it to us for repair, replacement or refund. If the problem is our fault then we will do this to your satisfaction. If it’s your fault then we will help out the best we can. Find out more about our Alpine Bond here.

PFC-Free

Nocturne fabric is treated with a 100% PFC-Free waterproof coating meaning it won't leak nasties into the environment.

Fire-retardent free

We’ve been proudly fire-retardant free for over a decade. Fire retardants use toxic chemicals that have been linked to carcinogens and complications with pregnancy. Read our guide to fire-retardents to find out more.

Hydrolysis resistant

TPU seam taping is more resistant to hydrolysis (seals being broken down by water), making your tent last longer.

All our factories sign up to our Code of Conduct. Find out where we make our product by visiting our Factories of Alpkit factory zone.

Reducing our carbon footprint

We are carbon neutral under PAS2060 and offset our Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 operations and transport emissions. We recognise that offsetting is not part of the solution but a point to pass through on a journey to Net Zero. Carbon Neutral is just a step in that journey.

We have joined the Science Based Targets Initiative which sets independent targets for us to achieve to do our bit to limit global warming to 1.5°C. Our targets are to halve our Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 2025 based on 2018 base year and reduce our total carbon intesnity by 15% every year to achieve genuine net zero by 2050.

End of life

When your partnership with this product is over send it back to us and we will pass it on to someone that needs it through our Continuum Project.
