Second Summit reviewed the Alpkit Kepler merino wool base layer and appreciated the affordable price point of the Kepler, especially given that merino often tends to be expensive.
In all, this is pretty much your typical merino baselayer. The difference between the Alpkit Kepler and most others is the great price point that the company has managed to achieve, while still retaining the quality that you would expect for twice as much coming from any other brand.
While the fit was slightly looser than the reviewer's preference, they were impressed with the overall quality of the garment. The Kepler, made from 100% New Zealand merino wool, demonstrated robustness, warmth, quick-drying capability, and natural odor resistance. The base layer proved to be comfortable, especially due to its flatlock stitching and strategically placed seams. Despite its affordable price, the Kepler matched the quality of more expensive alternatives and even surpassed some in durability.
