Leo Houlding talks climbing, adventure, tragedy and injuries

Join Leo Houlding at the Ilkley Literature Festival on October 15th for a talk on exploration, tragedy, injuries and more as he discusses his climbing career. Part of our month-long 'Ilkley Adventure Festival' event series.

Adventurer and television presenter Leo Houlding began climbing at age 10. The first and youngest Brit to free climb El Capitan in Yosemite National Park, cementing his reputation as a world class climber, he has summited the world’s toughest peaks and crossed continents to explore the most extreme places on our planet.

But behind such explorations, Houlding has dealt with tragedy, injuries and deaths of friends and colleagues. In Closer to the Edge he discusses how he dealt with such loss: a ‘warts-and-all’ insight into the extreme life of one of Britain’s best mountaineer adventurers.

The talk will start at 3:30pm on October 15th at Kings Hall in Ilkley.
Tickets are £15 or £12 for concessions.
