Filoment is our most packable insulated jacket with an excellent warmth-to-weight ratio. It’s designed for active use and will fit into your layering system.
- Lightweight fill and fabrics are highly packable
- 630 fill power recycled duck down provides excellent warmth to weight ratio
- 100% recycled nylon fabric and PFC Free DWR
- Micro-baffles for better freedom of movement
The outer made is from light yet durable nylon fabric that's 100% recycled and treated with a PFC-free durable water repellent to keep your down protected from moisture without using nasty chemicals. The 630 fill power down provides an excellent warmth to weight ratio and is fully recycled (RCS 100 certified), to reduce the amount of down that goes into landfill.
Narrow micro baffles give the Filoment an active, slim fit. It has a dropped, adjustable hem at the back and articulated arms that stop it from riding up when you’re reaching for that next hold or bending over to fit your snowshoes. The insulated zip baffle, chin guard and under-helmet hood keeps you well-defended against the cold.
Filoment also has two zipped hand warmer pockets, internal dump pockets and an external chest pocket for your phone, keys, and other valuables. Incredibly packable and light, Filoment is a staff favourite. We’ve worn ours on evenings around camp, Alpine starts, and even as part of our sleep systems on ambitiously minimalist mountain marathons.

Sustainability and Product Care
Product Care Information
You can and should wash this garment, most active outdoor folk do this once or twice a year.
Washing and re-waterproofing flushes out the dirt and oils that have accumulated so that it puffs up nicely and works better in damp conditions.
Don’t panic! Down is surprisingly durable and washing is not an onerous task. Read our Down Wash Guide for advice on washing your down jacket, or alternatively let us take care of it for you.

Sustainability
How It Is Made
PFC-Free DWRs
As part of our continuing effort to remove long-chain flurocarbons from our outer garments, we’re now using PFC-free Durable Water Repellent (DWR) treatments across our down range. C0 DWRs are non-toxic and don't build up in the environment, causing significantly less environmental damage.
RCS 100 Certified Reycled Down
For the Filoment we've used recycled down to reduce our usage of 'virgin' down and to re-use valuable materials that would otherwise be sent to landfill. The Recycled Claim Standard (RCS) is a standard to track materials through supply chains. The RCS 100 stamp ensures that at least 95% of the material is from recycled sources.
Where It Is Made
Our products are made in the best factories in the world. We know the factories personally and they have all signed up to our Code of Ethics in our supply chain. This includes the Ethical Trading Initiative base code, fair pay, safe working environments, no child labour, no modern slavery, no bribery or corruption, no materials from conflict zones and humane farming methods.
All our factories sign up to our Code of Conduct. Find out where we make our product by visiting our Factories of Alpkit factory zone.
Reducing our carbon footprint
We are carbon neutral under PAS2060 and offset our Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 operations and transport emissions. We recognise that offsetting is not part of the solution but a point to pass through on a journey to Net Zero. Carbon Neutral is just a step in that journey.
We have joined the Science Based Targets Initiative which sets independent targets for us to achieve to do our bit to limit global warming to 1.5°C. Our targets are to halve our Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 2025 based on 2018 base year and reduce our total carbon intesnity by 15% every year to achieve genuine net zero by 2050.
End of life
When your partnership with this product is over send it back to us and we will pass it on to someone that needs it through our Continuum Project.
