Details

Fast, precise movement in steep terrain

Alta Rocca is made for steep, rocky mountain days. Scrambly ridges, long alpine routes, via ferrata and the kind of terrain where careful footwork becomes part of the enjoyment.

Made with bootmakers in north-east Italy who've spent generations getting mountain boots right, Alta Rocca gives you a supportive platform that feels secure on smaller footholds and uneven ground while staying comfortable over long approaches and full days in the mountains.

Highlights

  • Vibram XS Trek sole - dependable grip on wet rock and rough ground
  • Precise footing - supportive platform improves edging performance
  • 9-point lacing - fine-tune the fit for scrambles and steep ground
  • Protective rand - reinforced upper handles scree and rock scrapes
  • Long-day comfort - enough flex for sustained mountain days
  • Waterproof lining - breathable Tepor membrane keeps you dry inside and out

At home in the mountains

Alta Rocca feels most at home where paths fade into rock and the route ahead demands attention. With the Vibram XS Trek compound you'll grip confidently across wet slabs, loose scree and polished stone, while the boot's defined edge and supportive feel underfoot help you make precise placements.

The close 9-point lacing system lets you adjust the fit for greater control on scrambly ground and uneven terrain. Up top, the reinforced upper and full rand stand up well to rocky mountain use, whether that’s brushing past rough gabbro on the Cuillin or contouring across loose scree gullies somewhere in the Alps.

The Tepor membrane keeps your feet dry even in prolonged rain, a damp foot is far more prone to blisters and loses heat faster than a dry one. Unlike microporous membranes, Tepor's hydrophilic construction keeps moisture moving even when conditions stay bad.

Trail tested

Choose Alta Rocca for the full Cuillin Ridge traverse in summer. The GR20. Jack’s Rake on a still morning. Via ferrata routes in the Dolomites where the approach path slowly gives way to ladders, cables and exposed limestone.

Alta Rocca is built for mountain days where the terrain is technical, the movement is varied and the route rewards precise footing.

Comfort, guaranteed.

Love 'em or return 'em. All our footwear is backed by our 28-day Comfort Guarantee, allowing you to return your shoes if they're not right for you.

Developed with mountain footwear know-how

Alta Rocca was developed with footwear specialists in north-east Italy, where generations of bootmakers have refined footwear for demanding mountain terrain. That experience shapes the fit, support and underfoot feel throughout the boot.

The result is a technical mountain boot that feels calm and composed on steep rocky ground and comfortable enough for long days linking ridges, summits and approaches.

Lower impact by design

Alta Rocca uses durable European-sourced materials and a PFAS-free Tepor membrane for waterproof protection with lower environmental impact. An Eco insole made with Arneplant Bio maize gives the same comfort and durability of standard EVA while reducing reliance on fossil-based materials.

Alta Rocca:for mountain days where the path gives way to rock.

Women's footwear size guide

Sizing Guide
UK 4 5 6 7 8
EU 38 39 40 41 42

If you are between sizes, we generally recommend sizing up. Find out more about measuring your feet if you don't know your size.

Understanding fit

Shoe size is your starting point, but a good fit also depends on foot width, arch shape, and overall foot volume.

Our boots are designed around a standard mountain footwear fit and can be fine-tuned with insoles, socks, and lacing techniques.

Foot width

Our footwear is designed around a standard width of approximately 98–102 mm.

This is not a strict limit, as fit also depends on toe shape, arch profile, and overall foot volume.

If you consistently find standard footwear narrow or restrictive, we recommend trying boots on in-store where possible.

Toe shape

Our toe box accommodates a range of foot shapes.

If you have a particularly pronounced Greek foot shape (long second toe) or square toe profile, we recommend trying footwear in-store with one of our qualified boot fitters.

Arch and Volume

High arches and flat feet do not usually require a different boot size, but they can affect how much internal space feels comfortable.

  • Low-volume feet may benefit from a thicker insole for a more secure fit
  • High-volume or high-arched feet may prefer a thinner insole or adjusted lacing

The right insole can dramatically improve comfort, support, and heel hold.

Read our boot fitting guide to learn more about how to achieve a comfortable and performant fit with insoles and lacing techniques.

What to check at home

Always try boots on wearing the socks you intend to walk in.

Walk around indoors and check the following:

Toe Room

  • You should have a small gap in front of your toes
  • Your toes should not contact the front of the boot on descents

Heel Hold

  • Your heel should feel secure
  • Slight movement is normal, persistent slipping is not

Width & Comfort

  • The boot should feel secure without pinching
  • There should be no major pressure points or excessive looseness

If the fit doesn’t feel right, try another size or model.. We have a 28 day comfort fit guarantee.
