Alpkit 2021 Sustainability Report

We're proud to release our 2021 Sustainability Report in a landmark year.

A treasured moment of last year was to join the B Corp movement. We were independently assessed against the highest standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability. Our score is class leading against both an all-business average and also a peer group. This is a huge achievement for our first assessment.

Leave no trace is our matra in the outdoors. And be gentle is our belief as a business.

This year we:

  • pivoted Alpkit Foundation to directly support food projects in lockdown. Alpkit Foundation has now awarded £300,000 to 900 projects benefitting over 15,000 people.
  • became a Living Wage Employer in the midst of a pandemic
  • reduced our carbon intensity and offset Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gases through UK based tree planting projects

We know we're not perfect and don't have all the answers. And we only exist because our customers choose to buy from us. We have faith that positive action and belief in nature will help us build a truly sustainable business.

Can business be a force for good?

Join us on 11 February at 11.30am where we'll be joined by Rob Harrison of Ethical Consumer Magazine, Oli Pepper of Morvelo and Kate Sandle of B Corp to discuss whether business can be a force for good.

There'll be an active Q&A session after an initial discussion and we welcome everyone to join. Ask questions on the day or email questions through to together@alpkit.com in advance.
