Kraft [2022]
Designed for fine evening bouldering and crisp morning hikes, the Kraft combine comfy organic cotton canvas with a host of technical features to perform from valley floor to summit top.
- Stretchy fabric with an articulated cut for full freedom of movement
- Organic cotton canvas is soft to wear but tough against abrasion
- Semi-slim cut around the ankles for bouldering and on the bike
Everything about the Kraft is designed for maximum comfort and freedom of movement. We've used an articulated fit and gusseted crotch, allowing you to move freely, whatever your activity. They're roomy enough to wear all-day in comfort but still narrow towards the ankles for bouldering or quick bike trips.
The organic cotton canvas fabric is super comfy but incredibly tough under abrasion — ideal for the infamous sandpaper effect of gritstone crags. Blended with a small amount of spandex, the Kraft are pretty darn stretchy too, easily passing the ‘foot-next-to-your-face-heel-hook’ test.
The thicker central rear belt loop is ace for attaching your chalk bag and a zipped thigh pocket is ideal for stashing your keys or cards so you don’t lose them when you're bouncing about/hanging off overhangs.

Sustainability and Product Care
Product Care Information
Like your favourite pair of jeans, these trousers will feel tighter straight out of the packet or washing machine but: DON’T PANIC - they’ll relax a little as you wear them. To look after your Kraft, wash them inside out at 30°C with similar colours. Avoid using detergents and conditioners where possible. They'll soon smell of chalk and heather anyway.

Sustainability
How it's made
The Kraft pants use organic cotton that is Global Organic Textile Standard-certified (GOTS). The GOTS is independently verified by a third party and is awarded to cotton that demonstrates a high level of environmental sustainability and ethical working practices.
Organic cotton farming is better for the soil, produces significantly less CO₂, uses less water and eliminates the use of harmful pesticides. And it feels great!
Where it's made
Our products are made in the best factories in the world. We know the factories personally and they have all signed up to our Code of Ethics in our supply chain. This includes the Ethical Trading Initiative base code, fair pay, safe working environments, no child labour, no modern slavery, no bribery or corruption, no materials from conflict zones and humane farming methods.
All our factories sign up to our Code of Conduct. Find out where we make our product by visiting our Factories of Alpkit factory zone.
Reducing our carbon footprint
We are carbon neutral under PAS2060 and offset our Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 operations and transport emissions. We recognise that offsetting is not part of the solution but a point to pass through on a journey to Net Zero. Carbon Neutral is just a step in that journey.
We have joined the Science Based Targets Initiative which sets independent targets for us to achieve to do our bit to limit global warming to 1.5°C. Our targets are to halve our Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 2025 based on 2018 base year and reduce our total carbon intesnity by 15% every year to achieve genuine net zero by 2050.
