    About the Role

  • Together with the board you will be responsible for creating an environment of a truly product-led outdoor and bike brand

  • Working with our Product and Supply team to provide creative direction and delivery of an industry leading product range for the multi-sport outdoor and bike enthusiast: run, hike, climb, camp, swim and bike.

  • Working closely with marketing you will provide customer insight including focus groups

  • Developing category plans that reflect our customer needs and collaborate with our marketing, buying, stores, customer service teams and board

  • Responsible for our range planning process: definitive products for our customers with exquisite detailing, daylight between our products, wildcards to take advantage of our D2C model ... following the age-old make, test, improve model

  • Own the factory selection and relationships

  • Oversee product development process, product line map and briefs

  • Work to the highest environmental and social standards making durable products our customers love that our repairable and recyclable; being a champion of our sustainability work both internally and externally to Alpkit

  • Sales, margin, availability and stock turn outcomes to achieve commercial and financial performance - staying true to our great product and accessible prices

  • Build and develop our product teams: with strong capability across all functions aligned to our customers - design, developers, garment tech, colour, fabric and component specialists, QC with mix of staff and freelance support

  • Delivering product training to our teams, including spending time with staff on the hill

    Assistant Manager - Alpkit Kingston

    Location: Alpkit Kingston
    Position: Permanent, Full-time
    Hours: 40 hours per week


    We are looking for an ace Assistant Manager to help run our brand new Kingston Store. Pushed along by a rising wave of customer demand, it was only a matter of time before we made it to London and the South-East. Our latest store is based in the heart of Kingston upon Thames, near leafy Richmond Park in south-west London. If you have a passion for the outdoors, then we want to help you squeeze that passion into helping people Go Nice Places, Do Good Things. Like an orange. A fresh, juicy orange.

    Our customer facing staff play a huge part within Alpkit, which is why this is an exciting opportunity for the individual who loves the outdoors and wants to be part of a growing retailer, offering real service with personality.

    About the role
    You will want to get involved with both Sonder and Retail and have a passion for the whole outdoors. This role will involve you being a duty manager in the absence of the Store Manager, so this is a great opportunity to develop your retail leadership skills and experience through taking on additional responsibilities and greater involvement in commercial decision making.

    Do you love outdoor kit so much; you want to repair it and keep it going for longer? We’re on the lookout for a Repair Hero to join our Betws Y Coed Alpkit Team. As a member of the store team, you will support the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager by repairing customers kit in our designated repair stations. We take pride in providing world class customer service. We’re looking for your love of outdoor gear and repairing it. Ideally, we’re looking for someone with sewing experience, or if you’re handy with a home sewing machine, get in touch!
