Summer Outdoor Shirts: Find the Right One for Your Activity

By Kenny Stocker

Shop our summer shirt range. UPF 50+, Polygiene® odour control, and activity-matched fits for hiking, cycling, travel and mountain days.

Every shirt in the range shares three things: UPF 50+ sun protection, Polygiene® odour control, and a cut designed to move with you rather than restrict you. The differences are weight, sleeve length, and how each shirt fits the demands of your activity. Wearing a technical mountain shirt on a hot summer day can actually keeps you cooler than bare skin and protect you from the suns harmful rays. See our summer layering guide.

Men's shirts

Coruna

Long-sleeve hiking and travel shirt

Coruna looks like a cotton shirt and behaves nothing like one. The nylon-polyester blend keeps you dry and cool when temperatures climb, dries overnight in a hostel sink, and moves with you under a pack without binding across the shoulders. Long sleeves and UPF 50+ add meaningful sun protection for open ridges and high-altitude days.

The angled rear yoke and mechanical stretch eliminate the need for clingy spandex, no restriction, no weight, no clamminess. Polygiene® means you can wear it for several days running without issue. Classic enough to wear to dinner. Practical enough to push the final mile to camp.

  • Fabric: 58% Nylon 6,6 / 42% polyester — 90gsm
  • UPF: 50+
  • Best for: Hot summer hiking, hut-to-hut trips, travel

Nevero

Long-sleeve tech shirt with adjustable cuffs

Nevero shares the same core fabric as Coruna, 90gsm nylon-polyester, UPF 50+, Polygiene® with two-position adjustable snap cuffs as the defining feature. Push back for airflow on the climb, fasten down when sun is direct or the temperature drops on the ridge. Velcro chest pocket and sunglasses slot on the front pocket.

  • Fabric: 58% Nylon 6,6 / 42% polyester — 90gsm
  • UPF: 50+
  • Best for: Hiking days where temperature changes across the hours

Cadiz

Short-sleeve hiking and travel shirt

Cadiz is the short-sleeve version of Tinto: same 90gsm nylon-polyester, UPF 50+ and Polygiene®. For hot days where you want maximum airflow without losing sun protection.

  • Fabric: 58% Nylon 6,6 / 42% polyester — 90gsm
  • UPF: 50+
  • Best for: Hot summer hiking, travel, warm riding days

Rocca

Short-sleeve shirt for hot days on the move

Rocca is the short-sleeve shirt in the lightweight range, cut with a deliberately loose fit to maximise airflow. It uses the same 90gsm nylon-polyester as Coruna and Nevero. Wicking, fast-drying, UPF 50+, Polygiene® but the relaxed fit sets it apart. Air moves through it. It does not cling.

Tailored through the shoulders for comfort under a pack or when reaching forward on the bike. Permanent wicking treatment speeds up evaporation in direct sun. Sunglasses slot on the front pocket, velcro chest closure.

  • Fabric: 58% Nylon 6,6 / 42% polyester — 90gsm
  • UPF: 50+
  • Best for: Hot summer hiking, travel, cycle touring

Aneto

Short-sleeve tech shirt

Aneto is the same shirt as Nevero in a different colourway. Two-position adjustable snap cuffs, velcro chest pocket and sunglasses buttonhole. 90gsm nylon-polyester, UPF 50+ and Polygiene® as standard.

  • Fabric: Nylon / polyester — 90gsm
  • UPF: 50+
  • Best for: Warm summer hiking and cycling

Kanza

Cycling and bikepacking shirt

Kanza is designed for long hours in the saddle. Articulated shoulders give you forward reach without restriction. A dropped rear hem and side splits keep you covered when leaning over the bars. Snap fastenings on the front and cuffs let you vent heat one-handed mid-climb. Off the bike the casual styling fits anywhere: a café stop, a hut check-in, even a late pizzeria in town.

UPF 50+ and Polygiene® make it the natural choice for multi-day bikepacking where washing opportunities are limited.

  • Fabric: 58% Nylon / 42% polyester — 90gsm
  • UPF: 50+
  • Best for: Gravel, bikepacking, cycle touring

Picu Tee

Cotton-feel technical tee

No buttons, no collar, lower profile. Yes it's a tee. Made from drirelease®, a blend of 85% recycled polyester and 15% organic cotton that dries four times faster than cotton while keeping the soft, natural feel. Good for hot climbs, casual travel days, and anywhere you want technical performance without looking technical.

Note: Picu Tee is not rated UPF 50+. If sun protection is a priority, especially for high-altitude days or long hours on open ground choose one of the button-up shirts above.

  • Fabric: 85% recycled polyester, 15% organic cotton — 164gsm (drirelease®)
  • UPF: Not rated
  • Best for: Casual travel, everyday summer activity

Woodsmoke

Mountain shirt — hiking, biking, climbing, all-season

Woodsmoke is best known for keeping you warm. Its ThermoTech® hollow core fibres trap air close to the body, which is exactly what you want when the temperature drops. But that same hollow core structure works in reverse in the heat, buffering against radiant heat from the sun rather than simply reacting to temperature. It regulates rather than just insulates which makes it the right shirt when conditions shift significantly across a day.

At 182gsm it is heavier than the rest of the range and has a brushed flannel feel that is noticeably comfortable next to the skin. Snap front for easy venting. Articulated back for freedom across the shoulders. The right choice when mornings are cold and midday sun is intense, or when you are moving between valley and ridge.

  • Fabric: 95% ThermoTech® polyester, 5% spandex — 182gsm
  • UPF: 50+
  • Best for: Mountain days, shoulder season, variable conditions

Women's shirts

Cinca

Long-sleeve hiking and travel shirt

Cinca is built to the same spec as Coruna in a fitted women's cut. The 90gsm nylon-polyester is wicking, fast-drying and UPF 50+. Light colours are chosen deliberately to reflect heat rather than absorb it. The angled rear yoke and mechanical stretch keep the shirt moving with you no restriction under a pack or when reaching forward on the bike.

  • Fabric: 58% Nylon 6,6 / 42% polyester — 90gsm
  • UPF: 50+
  • Best for: Hot summer hiking, multi-day trips, cycle touring, travel

Veleta

Short-sleeve hiking and travel shirt

Veleta is the short-sleeve option in the women's lightweight range. Same wicking fabric, UPF 50+ and Polygiene® as Cinca in a short-sleeve cut for warmer days. Fitted cut with tailored shoulders for movement under a pack or when reaching forward. Sunglasses slot and velcro chest pocket included.

  • Fabric: 58% Nylon 6,6 / 42% polyester — 90gsm
  • UPF: 50+
  • Best for: Summer hiking, travel, warm riding days

Esla

Long-sleeve tech shirt with adjustable cuffs

Women's equivalent of Nevero. Same 90gsm nylon-polyester, UPF 50+, Polygiene®. Two-position snap cuffs for managing coverage as conditions change. Velcro chest pocket and sunglasses buttonhole.

  • Fabric: 58% Nylon 6,6 / 42% polyester — 90gsm
  • UPF: 50+
  • Best for: Hiking with a pack, days where temperature shifts

Kanza Women's

Cycling and bikepacking shirt

The same cycling-specific design as the men's Kanza: articulated shoulders, dropped rear hem, side splits, snap front and cuffs for one-handed venting. UPF 50+ and Polygiene® for multi-day rides. Works as well in a café as it does on a climb.

  • Fabric: 58% Nylon / 42% polyester — 90gsm
  • UPF: 50+
  • Best for: Gravel, bikepacking, cycle touring

Woodsmoke Women's

Mountain shirt — hiking, biking, climbing, all-season

The same ThermoTech hollow core technology as the men's Woodsmoke in a women's fit. Temperature-regulating in both directions: insulating when cold, buffering against radiant heat in the sun. Brushed flannel feel. Articulated cut. Snap front. The right shirt when conditions change significantly across the day.

  • Fabric: 95% ThermoTech polyester, 5% spandex — 182gsm
  • UPF: 50+
  • Best for: Mountain days, shoulder season, variable conditions

Shirts designed and engineered for the demands of the outdoors

Every shirt except Woodsmoke and Picu is made from the same 90gsm nylon-polyester blend. It replicates the soft hand-feel of cotton without absorbing moisture, wicking and fast-drying by nature, with a permanent wicking treatment applied to speed up evaporation further. The differentiation across the range is in cut, fit, sleeve length, and activity-specific design details.

Polygiene® odour control is standard across the range (except Picu Tee). Silver chloride in the fabric prevents the bacteria that cause odour from building up, without interfering with your skin's natural bacteria. The treatment lasts the life of the garment, no reproofing needed. The practical result is fewer washes on a long trip and a shirt that still smells fine at the end of a hard day.

UPF 50+ means only 1 in 50 UV rays passes through the fabric, around 98% blocked. Tightly woven synthetics achieve this more reliably than cotton, which is part of why the nylon-polyester blend matters beyond just weight and drying time. At altitude, where UV increases by roughly 10-12% per 1,000 metres, this becomes more than a comfort feature.

Designed for movement is consistent across the range. Angled rear yoke, mechanical stretch, and articulated shoulders mean the shirt stays in place and moves with you. No riding up under a rucksack, no binding when you reach forward on the bike. We deliberately avoid spandex in the lightweight range: mechanical stretch from the fabric construction keeps the shirt light and fast-drying without the moisture-retention that stretch fibres introduce. Find out more about how we design the best outdoor clothing.

Woodsmoke is different in all dimensions. ThermoTech® hollow core polyester at 182gsm, heavier, warmer, and genuinely temperature-regulating across a wider range of conditions. The right tool when the day is less predictable. For reliable summer days on open terrain, the 90gsm range is the better choice.
