Issue 116 of Trek & Mountain provides an insightful group test of lightweight technical shells. Of course we were pleased to see our waterproof Pulsar smock make it into the Editors Picks.

Our other Editors choice pick is the Alpkit Pulsar smock - it is light, packable and stretchy, has good venting options and a hood that while not technically helmet compatible will accommodate most lids. It is also really great value for money so if you're looking for a no-nonsense waterproof layer and are on a tight budget, definitely take a look at this one.
