Peak Bagging: the Wainwrights

Karen and Dan Parker have designed 45 routes to link up the iconic fells written about by Alfred Wainwright decades ago. They are aiming to speed up the Wainwright bagging process, and enjoy the challenge of completing them at your own pace. It could take months, years or even just a few weeks. These routes are the most efficient way of completing the Wainwrights as quickly as possible. But, even if you’re not challenging yourself to summit all 214, you can enjoy these routes as runs or walks in their own right. The routes are circular, and complete with a 1:40,000 scale map, elevation profile, public transport, parking details, refreshments and download GPX files. They also feature custom timings for walkers, trekkers, fastpackers and runners. It also overviews the details of Steve Birkinshaw and Sabrina Verjee’s record-breaking completion of the route.
