It was wonderfull news to hear that we had won Gold for 'Online Retailer of the Year' at the TGO magazine readers awards. Our 6th year and again a special moment, the reason why it means so much to us doesn't really change.
As much as we're an online retailer we've never wanted to hide away in the pixels of a computer, especially now we've opened our fourth store in Gateshead. It's the customers that mean everything to us and being both retailer and brand there's nowhere really to hide. So whilst it's great when we hear about all those amazing adventures you're having, we've got to face up to it when things aren't as you expect... we've still got to make sure we're looking to improve.
So to win an award like this, when our customers are standing in front of us saying 'Hey Alpkit you know what, you're doing alright', it means the world to us and gives us the confidence to try even harder... So we'll keep passing those orders through on to the warehouse team who will work tirelessly to make sure they are loaded on that post wagon each day. The customer service team will continue to diligently answer emails and phone calls on order queries, product advice and returns. The product team will continue to listen to what you're up to and carry on pushing the standards of clothing and equipment we have to offer.
But then we know as a retailer and brand that we can do more. That's why we also keep trying to give a little back, with the help of our customers through the Alpkit Foundation we're finding that many little steps can certainly make a big difference, the Continuum makes sure that any not-needed-anymore gear can go to those less fortunate and can really use it, whilst our Big Shakeout Festival gives us a chance to meet some of our customers and have a bit of a knees up
