The Blind Man of Hoy
Red Szell follows his dreams and attempts to climb the iconic Old Man of Hoy
From an early age Red was influenced by the BBC documentary following Chris Bonnngton and Tom Patey climbing the Old Man of Hoy. Within months he was climbing and dreaming of standing on its summit.
At nineteen Red became blind and for 20 years that dream was never realised., but it was not forgotten and the desire never trully went away. When finally shared with his climbing friends plans for an attempt were hatched, and with the support of a mountan guide and an adventure cameraman the team set forth to confront the dream.
