Watch 'Fire of Love' and 'The Alpinist' at Alhambra cinema
Join us on August 19th at the Alhambra cinema in Keswick for two adventure film screenings to kick off our Keswick School of Adventure weekend.
The Keswick Alhambra Cinema is the sixth oldest continuously running cinema in the UK, opened in 1914 and now with two screens, Digital And Dolby technology. It's an iconic building in Keswick and a gorgeous place to see great films in high quality.
Independent, family owned and run and with a warm welcome from knowledgeable staff, there are drinks and snacks available, hot and cold drinks and a licenced bar where you can take drinks into the film.
FIRE OF LOVE (93mins) - 19th August 6.00pm
Katia and Maurice Krafft loved two things — each other and volcanoes. For two decades, the daring French volcanologist couple roamed the planet, chasing eruptions and documenting their discoveries. FIRE OF LOVE tells a story of primordial creation and destruction, following two bold explorers as they venture into the unknown, all for the sake of love.
THE ALPINIST (92mins) - 19th August 8.30pm
Marc-André Leclerc climbs alone, far from the limelight. The free-spirited 23-year-old ascends massive and remote alpine faces that represent some of the boldest climbs in the history of the sport. But he draws scant attention and lives a simple life with no phone or car, hitchhiking from peak to peak to pursue his pure vision of solo climbing.
The film 'Fire of Love' will also be shown on Saturday 20th alongside anpther film: 'The Rescue'. Please see the Saturday screening event for more details.
Standard tickets are £9 or £6 for under 24s and Alhambra cinema members.
