Halloween inspired parent and child walk in Middleton Woods
Join us at Alpkit Ilkley on October 31st where Kathryn and Lyra from Blaze Trails will be leading a Halloween inspired parent and child walk in Ilkley Middleton Woods. Part of the week-long 'Ilkley Adventure Festival' event series.
The walk follows woodland paths and is just under 2 miles. Perfect for little explorers and baby carriers, not suitable for pushchairs. Parents, parents to be, grandparents, carers and dogs (on leads) are all welcome.
Meeting point: We shall meet at Ilkley Pool and Lido ( Denton Rd, Ilkley LS29 0BZ) where there is free parking. Lyra and I will be standing near the picnic benches which are outside the lido building.
Walk Length: Expect to be out for an hour to an hour and a half.
Suitable for: Little legs and baby carriers. This follows undulating woodland track, it may be muddy in places and there is one stile. Good for those new to walking, with younger babies and those with little legs who are able to walk 2 miles.
Facilities: There are no facilities en route. There are public toilets in Ilkley or a toilet that can be used in the Alpkit store. There are no specific baby changing facilities.
Refreshments: If we need to stop on this walk then we can, so bring snacks! After the walk we will head to Alpkit, who will kindly provide us with hot drinks and some spooky treats.
About your host
Blaze Trails is a community of parents who empower each other to get out walking with their babies and toddlers. Through this local group we organise baby-carrying, pushchair and toddler walks in and within an hour of York. Join us!
Getting out walking with your baby can feel like a challenge, but our community is here to show that it's totally achievable and feels downright awesome. So pack your flask and your baby and join us for a beautiful walk and a good natter! All parents and carers welcome.
All walks are organised either by group founder and Blaze Director Erin or our other brilliant organisers, Gabby, Hannah and Kathryn. We all have lots of outdoor experience, and plenty of experience of getting outside with tiny humans - we have made all the mistakes so that you don't have to, and are always on hand, before, during or after walks to offer advice and support.
We will always try to give you as much information as possible about our walks before the day so that you know whether it is right for you. If you're not sure, please just send us an email: email@example.com or add a post on our Facebook group.
