Screening of 'Fixed by the fells' followed by a talk and Q&A
Join us on August 12th at Alpkit Keswick for a premiere of 'FIXED BY THE FELLS', a film by Harrison Ward (better known as Fell Foodie) and producer Garth Dew, followed by a talk and Q&A session about the film.
A passionate self-taught cook since childhood, food has played a key role in most of Harrison's life. A sudden life change brought a relocation to the Lake District and an introduction to hiking. A new passion was ignited and it wasn't long before his love of cooking was merged with a new appreciation for the fells. Harrison produces restaurant-quality dishes in remote locations using minimal equipment. He takes modern practices back to their primal roots and shows what can be cooked in the mountains.
He’s here to premiere his short film with producer Garth Dew, a film director and cinematographer from Lancashire. He'll then stick around to deliver a talk and answer any questions you may have. If you love the outdoors, food, advocating for mental health and amazing stories of recovery then this is for you! There will also be some food and drink available afterwards.
After battling depression during his teenage years, Harrison Ward turned to alcohol to escape. His medicine soon became his poison. Having hit rock bottom, Harrison combined a new found love of the outdoors with his lifelong love of cooking to turn his life around. Set in the heart of The Lake District, this moving film shows the power of changing your environment.
The event will start at 6:00pm on August 12th and will last approximately 2 hours.
Tickets cost £5 with 40 spaces available.
Proceeds from the event will be donated to Alpkit Foundation.
